Rosemarie Sood is a respected professional photographer who has been involved professionally with photography for over 20 years. She has experience with weddings, portraiture and commercial photography and loves to capture nature, landscapes and architectural creations.
Her work has appeared in Pine Ridge Juried Art Shows, exhibitions at the Guild Inn, Bluffs Gallery and Cedar Ridge Gallery; as well as a solo exhibition at Ontario Power Generation.

1. UNDERSTANDING YOUR CAMERA
Gain a better understanding of your camera; whether you are using a film camera, "point & shoot" or digital SLR. Overview of exposure and metering modes and auto-focus options. Learn how to compensate for situations that can cause over or under exposures. Learn about resolution and file settings for your digital camera.
2. EXPOSURE FACTORS
Gain a thorough understanding of principles and factors that affect exposure. How choice of shutter speed and
f-stop will effect the final image and choosing the right film speed or ISO settings for best results. Choosing the right lens and focal length for a shot. This workshop is geared towards people wishing to learn how to set exposure using aperture priority, shutter speed priority or manual mode on their cameras. Participants are encouraged to bring their own photos in order to learn how to improve them.
3. COMPOSING IMAGES WITH IMPACT
Learn the principles of portrait photography, landscape and travel photography. Learn to use composition to create images with impact. Create awareness of the little things that can make a big difference and get tips on posing your subject.
4. LIGHTING, FLASH BASICS AND FILTERS
Learn lighting principles, flash photography basics and how to use fill flash outdoors. Tips on overcoming some common situations that pose problems with a flash and using filters as tools.
Take your photos to the next level with Photoshop.
Learn how to organize, enhance and edit your photos.
Learn techniques to restore old photos and touch up faces.
Learn how to add creative borders, create custom collages,
design your own photo cards and much more.

$120 for each level consisting of 3 two hour workshops
Photoshop Level 1
Topics include becoming familiar with the workspace and how to customize it,
cropping & resizing, global colour & exposure corrections and use of the
clone & healing brush tool. Introduction to portrait retouching, layers and layer styles.
Photoshop Level 2
Topics include adjustment layers, layer masks, clipping masks and working with text.
Learn how to master selection tools, change the background in a photo,
open eyes and add a person to a group photo.
Learn how to make creative collages and much more.
Photoshop Level 3
Topics include understanding layer blend modes, dodge & burn techniques, portrait retouching and skin smoothing techniques. Learn how to create your own actions, work with smart objects, customize and create custom brushes.

Fieldtrips are geared towards individuals wishing to become more proficient at using manual camera settings
and should have a basic understanding of exposure factors.
